Rosmel's Bey CrackerLarge Section B Welsh Pony Stallion 14.1 hh (Rosmel's Cotillion x CC Croquette by Texas Bright Light)
JUNE 2004 Cracker is currently being broken to ride and has now attended his first two horse shows at the ripe age of 16 years. He was quite the rage at 14 + hands with his HUGE stride! We expect he will make his mark in the performance arena as his training progresses. The Bel Air Classic show was Cracker's first under saddle class and was a real eye opener for him with 12 other ponies in the arena including 2 other stallions. At Penn Mary-del we had entered him in the hunter under saddle class for additional ring experience but we were advised he had to compete in 1 over fences class so we entered him in the jumping phase of the division. Cracker willingly took all the fences and did a beautiful job considering the show was his first attempt over a course as well as his first attempt to jump 2'6". Lara was very proud of his efforts and his desire to please. July 2004 NEWPA was a whole new experience for Bey Cracker with the show grounds located beside the N.Y. Thruway. The traffic noise and lights at night beside the arena were one thing to contend with but the speedway noise next to his stabling made this show a real eye opener! By the time the Garden State Show rolled around the show scene seemed to be just another day in his life. I watched him maneuver around a ring swarming with little kids on their ponies going every way possible and at every speed. Often as not they ran into him and he took it all in stride. The heavens then opened up and attempted to drown Cracker during the performance classes all the while a building crew was erecting a new building 100' away using all sorts of noisy power equipment. Despite all that Cracker managed to come home with is first performance ribbons. He even managed to beat the professionals! A fun day indeed.
