The Mares That Make Glynmagic!
Our broodmares all nick back very quickly to the great forefathers of the Welsh breed. Their Welsh blood is not diluted with additional Thoroughbred and Arab blood as in the case of many Welsh breeders today in the states as well as abroad.  The power of the pure Welsh blood enables Glynmagic to produce good, sensible mounts for youngsters that will last and have the ability to master a variety of disciplines.

Please note: We are Welsh pony breeders thus the broodmares listed on this page are not for sale.

Bristol Diana Champion in performance and breed classes.

Bristol Diana (RosMel's Black Magic x Bristol Charlie's Angel) at 13.17/8 h, is the pinnacle of our breeding program.  She is one of only three foals from the National Champion Bristol Charlie's Angel who is out of National Champion Lithgow Wishnik.  Wishnik's dam, Verity was the daughter of Criban Victor, a 5 time National Champion in Wales. Diana's sire is Supreme Champion RosMel's Black Magic who was sired by the 1998 Legion of Merit Sire, GlanNant Tango. Obviously Diana descends from the lineage of champions.  She has tremendous presence, is an exceptionally strong and agile athlete, with a fabulous disposition.  Diana has good substance and great depth of body which cradles a heart of pure gold!.

Rosmel's Mariposa (Rosmel's Bey Flame x Beauty N Motion x GlanNant Tango) is a 13.0h dun.  Mariposa's pedigree is representative of some of the best old lines in Welsh.  She is an extreme mover with a large stride and good hock action.  Mariposa is honest, has smooth gaits and thus has become my favorite mount.  She's a good little trail pony and very willing over fences.

Bristol Lotus Champion in breed classes.

Bristol Lotus (Lithgow Houdini x Bristol Little Egypt x Lithgow Gay Grenadier) owned by Claudia Novak,  foaled in 1992.  This is one special mover who definitely knows exactly where she is about to place all four legs at all times.  I have watched Lotus trot across my pasture with her head down eating grass and her leading leg is still straight from her shoulder! This is one athletic mare so I guess it's no surprise she descends from the performance bloodlines of Sylvia's Comet, Lithgow Houdini, and Lithgow Gay Grenadier.

Aquila Saccharine Champion in performance and breed classes/ Retired

Aquila Saccharine (Clan Dash x Coed Coch Sucr) at 11 hh is as BIG in welsh type as she is small in stature.  Sugar is a multi-champion in hand and in performance.  A glance at her pedigree demonstrates that this is old-old breeding.  Sugar's great-great grandparents are none other than Coed Coch Glyndwr, Clan Glomadh, and Coed Coch Madog.  Sugar is truly a blue blood.  She typifies all that is section A welsh.  Sugar has a beautiful dished face with great breath between bold eyes and tiny ears.  Believe it or not this pony jumps like a deer and drives  like a dream. Sugar carried several of my children to Short Stirrup Champions.  Please click on her name above her picture to see her sire, Clan Dash, at a trot.  Sugar is the dam of two Glynmagic mares, Three Wishes and Sorcia.

Glynmagic Silk Stockings
Glynmagic Silk Stockings (Lithgow Houdini x Bristol Rachel Rachel) is a section B that stands 12 h.  Silky's grandfather on her mother's side is the many time Supreme Champion Bristol Sun God who is double Coed Coch Glyndwr. Her grandfather on the top side is the renowned pony hunter producer Sylvia's Comet.  Silky is the most elegantly flashy pony at Glynmagic.  Her four white stockings beautifully accentuate her dynamite movement.  Silky is eager to learn and a pleasure to ride.  Her exceptional bloodlines assure that she will produce lovely  performance ponies.  Look for her to make her mark on future generations of Welsh.

Senior Reserve Champion Section A Mare (2003 Maryland Pony Breeders)

Double Senior Champion Section A Mare and Reserve Grand Champion Section A (2003 Ohio Show)

Glynmagic Three Wishes (Lithgow Houdini x Aquila Saccharine) is a  champion section A mare foaled in '95.  Wishy is proof that breeding great old pedigrees is a sure thing.  She is a beautiful mix of her sire and dam as she has captured the best of both.  Her conformation is nicely merged with her inherent femininity producing an exquisite mare.  What more can be said?  Wishy is a wish come true!

Tangwyllt Brigantine

Tangwyllt Brigantine (GlanNant Cadence x GlanNant Vela) stands 13.3 h.  Both her sire and dam were bred by Mollie Butler who during her breeding tenure placed many hunter ponies on the show circuit.  Brigantine is double Cusop Sheriff.  Her grandmother was the great pony hunter Cwmpennant Carina.  Her sire is the many time Supreme Champion and 2002 Legion of Merit Sire, GlanNant Cadence.  Her mother, GlanNant Vela is a beautiful, very typey, 13.1 h pony that excelled in hunter, pleasure performance and driving.  Brigantine loves to jump as does her dam which is why Brig and her mother have been among my children's favorite mounts during the past nine years.

Glynmagic Nosegay

Glynmagic Nosegay (Lithgow Houdini x Bristol Rachel Rachel) is a section A mare foaled in 1997.  This mare is going to produce some terrific children's hunter ponies with her laid back manner and typey looks.  Nosegay is very smart and knows exactly where she wants to be.  It's generally useless to move her to a pasture she doesn't like as she will find her way back to the pasture of her preference.  As a foal she was known as our lawn ornament and her mother just gave up trying to keep her nearby.  When she was thirsty she returned to mom for a drink and then went on a walk-about.

Glynmagic Sorcia
Glynmagic Sorcia (Lithgow Houdini x Aquila Saccharine) is a section A mare foaled '96.  She is another of our ponies Lara broke by just getting on and going for a ride.  This is such an important trait of the original type Welsh pony.  Training them is not a struggle as they enjoy working, learning and being handled.

Rosmel's Sun Glo Photo courtesy RosMel Pony Farm

Rosmel's Sun Glo - Rosmel's Quadrille x Bristol Sun Sylph (Bristol Sun God x Coed Coch Swynan) is a 13h chestnut Section B Welsh Pony.  Sun Glo contributes blood from Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad, a Third Criban Victor Son, to Glynmagic's herd of broodmares.  In fact this filly is only 2 generations removed from Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad and 3 generations from Criban Victor.  Her Dam, Bristol Sun Sylph has produced many fabulous performance ponies during her broodmare tenure the most famous of which is Strike a Pose.

Bred to Glynmagic Copper Comet for a 2007 foal.

Glynmagic Aurora

Glynmagic Aurora (Glynmagic Copper Comet x Bristol Diana)  is a grey section B mare foaled 4/00.  Aurora is made in her mother's image and we expect she will produce solid dependable children's ponies.  She is LOADED with bone and original Welsh type.  Aurora is obviously a well sprung mare who is a very easy keeper.  Aurora's first foal, Wing Man, is phenomenal.  Look for Wing Man on the Young Stock Page.

Windrose Contessa
Windrose Contessa (Bristol Bardd x Carousel's Mor-forwyn Gwen) is a 13.1h, blue roan, section B Welsh pony.  This mare reinforces the Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad blood first introduced to our herd by Rosmel's Sun Sylph.  Tessa is a bold mover and her game attitude seems to have won over my husband.

Bred to Shenandoah Supernova for a 2007 foal.

Bristol Erin
Bristol Erin (Smoke Tree Silver Dragon x Bristol Elan x Coed Coch Ballog) is a 13h chestnut, Section B Welsh Pony. Erin contributes stronger Coed Coch Ballog blood to our herd.  Ballog, a son of Criban Victor is Erin's grandsire.  Erin is everyone's favorite with her sweet, laid back temperament.  She is the first to befriend each newcomer regardless of age or status.

Produced a 2006 bay filly by Rosmel's Bey Cracker

Glynmagic Fan Dance
Glynmagic Fan Dance (Rosmel's Cotillion x Bristol Lotus) is a 13.1h grey section B Welsh pony.  Fanny contributes more Lithgow Gay Grenadier blood to our herd while continuing our line breeding program to Lithgow Houdini.  Fanny has 6 crosses to Criban Victor and 12 crosses to Coed Coch Glyndwr.  Certainly a pedigree of distinction.

RosMel's Tap Dance

Tap Dance (Rosmel's Bey Cracker x Rosmel's Tarentella x GlanNant Tango) is a 14.2h chestnut mare.  Sweet and gentle are the two words that instantly come to mind to describe this mare.  Lara has uneventfully broken her to saddle in 2003 and found her to be a comfortable ride.  Tap has produced 3 lovely big foals by Copper.

Bred to Glynmagic Copper Comet for a 2007 foal.
