In October of 2005 the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America board of directors voted to remove registration rule #6, which limited the amount of white markings in purebred Welsh ponies. This rule change allows pinto ponies into the Welsh registry. Today as we breed our stallions to our mares we double up on the close Criban Victor influence in each of our foals. Historically this formula has proven its worth. Furthermore, Lithgow Houdini's sire, Sylvia's Comet was recently mentioned by Richard Taylor as being one of the all time top 4 hunter pony producing sires in the country. Sylvia's Comet lived 37 of his 39 years on a thoroughbred farm where he was the only equine that habitually jumped the fencing to follow the children on trail rides or to visit the neighbor's summer kitchen. Obviously Houdini descends from greatness on both the top and bottom of his pedigree and his genes are loaded with personality that certainly seems to pass on to his offspring. Glynmagic
strives to produce safe ponies for children. Our premise is that the
older Section B bloodlines going back to Criban Victor produce a
more child worthy
pony. Why? Because there is more Welsh pony blood with the addition
of "like" Welsh Cob bloodlines contributing size. This gives you less outside
influences of Arabian and Thoroughbred in the gene
pool. We certainly appreciate the beauty these bloodlines can
contribute, however as you increase the percentage of foreign blood in a
Welsh pony you are very likely to produce a hotter mount. The hotter
the mount the less child worthy the pony.

Welsh in appearance (and behavior) rather than looking like another breed in a pony sized
body. Houdini's son, Glynmagic Copper Comet, and 13 of our foundation mares are 3 generations
removed from Criban Victor. Our large stallion, Rosmel's Bey Cracker,
and 3 more producing mares, are 4 generations removed from Criban Victor. We have one broodmare that is a mere 2 generations removed from
Criban Victor.
